Abuse, Neglect, Dependency Unit
The Abuse, Neglect and Dependency Unit provides critical coordination of information and services to the court system, the public, the legal community, law enforcement agencies, volunteer agencies, as well as social service agencies within and outside of Butler County. The array of cases handled include abuse, neglect, and dependency actions, adult criminal actions, custody/visitation actions, and child support matters.
Butler County Job and Family Services files cases each year with Butler County Juvenile Court involving children who are abused, neglected and/or dependent. The Family Recovery Court is a collaborative effort between Children Services, Mental Health providers, Drug and Alcohol Providers and others to address issues of substance abuse, parenting, employment, housing education and mental health. The Family Recovery Court works to reunify children with their parents in a safe, sober and stable environment. In situations where this is not possible, permanent placement in a safe stable adoptive home is the alternative.
